 | After graduating from the University of NSW in 2007, I completed General Practice fellowship training in Newcastle. I joined Hamilton Doctors in 2011, working five days/week. I became the Practice Principal in January 2018. I have multiple areas of interest, including child health, completing a Diploma of Child Health through Westmead Hospital / Sydney University. I also have an interest in musculoskeletal and sports medicine, offering a range of joint injections. For my elderly patients, I provide home visits when required in the local area and am also a VMO of Maroba Nursing Home and Hostel. I also have an interest in industrial medicine, being company doctor for multiple corporations, both small and large, handling pre-employment medicals and workers compensation issues. I am accredited for RailCorp 1, 2, 3 medicals. After hours, I participate in the GP Access After Hours roster at John Hunter Hospital. In my limited free time I coach my Daughter's soccer team and go bike riding with my kids. |

| Dr Fiona Van Leeuwen | |
 | I came to Newcastle to study Medicine from Melbourne where I had been living and working as a Registered Nurse at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. I grew up in a small country town in West Gippsland about 100 km east of Melbourne where I'd spent my youth very involved in all kinds of sports and camping adventures with my family. After graduating from Newcastle medical school I went on to complete general practice training and worked in Dora Creek and Foster finally moving to Hamilton Doctors for a 6 month stint before going back to the local hospital system to work at the James Fletcher Hospital in psychiatry and then at Maitland Hospital where I completed my Diploma of Obstetrics. I have been the principal GP and owner of Hamilton Doctors from 2010 - 2018. I enjoy all aspects of working at the coalface in general practice with our dedicated team. I am ever inspired inspired by the extraordinary capacity of ordinary people in our ordinary lives. I want to continue to provide the best of old fashioned general practice care using modern medicine approaches for our families and patients to stay well. I advocate for our community as patients and our GP teams as health providers of this essential service in our increasingly complex health mileau. I have contributed to health planning and implementation by holding various positions locally. These include being inaugural co-clinical lead of the Hunter New England Health Pathways Team – the first Australian site to provide this web based information management and referral system for our GP teams, partaking in health related boards, clinical councils and GP organisations. I take great delight in the simple things of family life, adore boating, camping and relax by getting away from it all by losing myself in nature, good food, a good book and good company. |

| Dr Catherine Riedel | |
 | With a BSc, MBBS & FRACGP, I have been working in General Practice since 1996. I joined Hamilton Doctors in 1998. I was born in Broken Hill and moved to California with my family as a small child. I completed a Science degree at the Uni California majoring in Biology. I then moved to Melbourne where I worked in a Cancer Research lab before attending Flinders University to complete a medical degree. I moved to Newcastle to complete my internship. In 1995, I spent 6 months in northern England, where I studied Paediatrics. I enjoy the team approach to health care for patients at Hamilton Doctors. My special interests include Paediatrics, women's medicine and all general health issues. I am also part of the GP Access After Hours roster. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. |

| Dr Jane Morgan | |
 | I grew up in Orange and completed my medical degree at Sydney University in 1993. After graduation, I completed my internship and resident year at Gosford Hospital where as well as gaining medical knowledge and skills, I honed my talent as a body boarder. On moving to Sydney, I completed a Diploma in Obstetrics and did six months of Palliative Care at St Vincents Hospital, Darlinghurst. My GP training commenced in the far north NSW town of Nimbin where, as well as consulting, I was on call for the local hospital. From Nimbin, I worked in Mullumbimby and then relocated to Orange for a year. I moved to Newcastle in 1999 to work as a GP in Elermore Vale. In 2003 my family and I moved to Holland for 12 months for my husband's work but returned in 2004 when I commenced practice at Hamilton. I enjoy all aspects of general practice - from paediatrics through adolescents to the elderly. Mental health care makes up a large part of my work day to day. I love music and spending time with my family and other animals. |

| Dr Marie-Anne Hockings | |
 | I grew up locally and studied Medicine at Sydney Uni. After the postgrad hospital years and then Obstetrics in London, I completed GP specialty training back here and then FACPM. In 2016, I added a Grad Cert in Forensics for my work with the Sexual Assault Service and, in 2019, did a course in forensic photography. I also speak rusty French and a little Italian. I joined Hamilton Doctors in 2000. My particular interests are: travel medicine (pre-Covid!); pregnancy; adolescence; skin cancers; musculoskeletal medicine and absolutely anything to do with children. I chose General Practice because of its challenge and unpredictability, and I cherish the long-term relationships and the opportunity to help people in all phases of life. As a Conjoint Lecturer at the Uni, I teach students both in hospital and at the practice. I also used to supervise GP registrars in a previous practice and at Awabakal Aboriginal Medical Service. I'm also a VMO at John Hunter Hospital where I work in the high-risk Endocrine Antenatal clinics. (Until the birth of my own children, I delivered babies and now have the joy of watching them grow up and have babies of their own). I also volunteer at a health clinic for the homeless (although it's on pause at present due to the pandemic). After hours, I work at the Sexual Assault Service, participate in GP Access and work on perfecting care plans. Beyond work, I love singing, music, yoga, bike-riding, gardening, going bush and hanging out with my gorgeous family. |

 | I completed schooling in Casino, a small country town. After some time in Sydney, I came to the Newcastle University medical school. I have chosen to live in Newcastle ever since. I have taken up playing football (round ball style) in the last 15 years and have been heard to say 'it is the meaning of life'. I work in General Practice because people and families offer the privilege of wanting to work on healing together. I enjoy the wide variety of people that come to Hamilton Doctors. I have also done further training in identification and treatment of skin cancer and run a weekly skin clinic. I am interested in treating children. |

 | After graduating from UNSW in 1994 I worked my first two years at Tamworth base hospital before commencing my GP training in Newcastle. Life adventures and travel then took me on a journey around the world ending in a Burmese refugee camp in Thailand in 1999-2000 to complete my GP training before relocating to Sweden. The next decade was spent living and working as a GP in Sweden and raising my young family there. Finally returning to Australia I set up practice at Broadmeadow in 2011 before relocating to Hamilton Doctors 2014. As a GP I find it such a privilege to gain insight into the lives of my patients across several generations. I really value this continuity of care. In true GP style I am a "Jack of all trades, master of none" but can always promise you an honest approach to your problems. I enjoy all aspects of family medicine but especially travel medicine, paediatrics, antenatal care, women's health and chronic disease management. It has been an honour to be able to join such an experienced and dedicated team of GPs here at Hamilton Doctors where there is such a high focus on quality care and team work. |

 | I graduated from Newcastle University in 1988 and worked in Hospitals in Gosford, Newcastle and Sydney before completing my GP training. I ran a solo practice in Coogee and in 1998 my husband and I moved to Maitland to raise our 3 sons close to family. After establishing a film company and nearly 10 years in General Practice in East Maitland, we moved to Newcastle in 2007 I have since divided my time between my three passions - Family, General Practice and our film company, Limelight Creative Media. I enjoy all aspects of General Practice with special interests in Women's health, Travel medicine and chronic conditions. In Limelight, we specialise in health and education. My work as a doctor informs many of our films and this combined with my strong belief in equity, inspires me to continue to try and make a difference to the health and wellbeing of people both individually and at a community level. |

 | After graduating from Newcastle University, I worked in academic hospitals in the Central Coast and Sydney. I completed my GP fellowship training in the Central Coast and then decided to return to Newcastle to raise my family. I enjoy the diverse aspects of family medicine and have special interests in paediatrics (with a Diploma in Child Health), Women's health and Skin Cancers. I am an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy spending time mountain biking and snow skiing. I also enjoy music, travelling, reading and of course spending time with my family. I am excited to have joined an excellent and caring team at Hamilton Doctors. |

 | Dr Abbie Bingham grew up in Sydney and moved to Newcastle to study Medicine, graduating from The University of Newcastle in 1992. After completing her internship in Sydney she decided Newcastle was a far better place to live and hasn't left since. She trained in Paediatrics at the John Hunter Children's Hospital for 3 years before specialising in General Practice. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine, particularly the privilege of caring for multiple generations of the one family. She has a special interest in children's health, and maternity and postnatal care. She also has further qualifications in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland. When not working Abbie loves gardening, sewing, art and music. Her major challenge in life is keeping the house stocked with enough food for her two teenaged boys. |

 | Dr Cathy McIntyre grew up in Maitland and studied medicine at the University of Newcastle. After graduating in 1988 she worked in Sydney, Launceston and then Perth where she obtained a diploma in obstetrics as well as completing her general practice training. Ten years later she returned with her husband to settle in Newcastle and raise their 2 daughters close to family. She is interested in all aspects of family health care and particularly enjoys the long term relationships with patients that general practice allows. Her underlying philosophy is to provide information and support to enable people to make choices about their own health. |

 | I grew up on a farm near Kempsey, a daughter of the local vet but preferred to pursue a career in human medicine instead! I had a brief career as a physiotherapist before changing to medicine. After graduating from Sydney University in 2009 I spent 3 years working in hospitals in Sydney before moving to Newcastle with my husband to complete my fellowship in General Practice. I love working in General Practice for the variety and especially the opportunity to care for a whole family from preconception through to old age. I particularly enjoy women's health, paediatrics (with a Diploma of Child Health) and skin cancer medicine. Outside of work I'm kept busy with 3 young children and enjoy photography, running and (attempting!) skiing. |

 | I graduated from Newcastle University in 1988, and after hospital and GP training, I gained my fellowship in 1994. I moved to Seaham with my family, and then established Seaham Surgery in 2000, which has grown from a solo to a multi doctor practice. I have now moved to the city, and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career with Hamilton Doctors in 2021. My interests are in all aspects of family medicine, with a special interest in minor office procedures and treatment of skin cancer. I also offer joint injections for musculoskeletal problems. My interests outside of working include family time, camping, kayaking, and surfing. |

 | I graduated from medical school in NZ and moved to Australia in 2008. I started working in general practice after moving to Newcastle with a young family. I love the variety of general practice and the chance to provide care for the whole family. I have a special interest in women's and children's health, particularly breastfeeding medicine and infant care. I am able to provide contraceptive services such as IUD and implanon insertions and have completed the National Certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health and the Australasian Lactation Course for Health Professionals. Outside of work I am generally busy with my 3 boys and enjoy exploring Newcastle and surrounds with my family. |
